Porongurup Wander Walk & Wine

A trip down Albany Highway to the Porongurup Range Tourist Park. From there we can explore the area. There are multiple options including a walk up to Castle Rock Granite Skywalk and a tour of the local wineries.
The annual Porongurup Cellar Door Trail celebrations also begins on Saturday at Dukes Winery with special wine tastings, live music, food, another option for us to wander too.

Seven Sins Social Lunch, Perth Hills

Come along for a social club get-together and a delicious gastronomic adventure at the Seven Sins Perth Hills restaurant. Located in the Brackenridge Village, Roleystone quaint historical wooden buildings (dated back to 1921) and perched on a gigantic granite outcrop with spectacular Hills views, this is a unique dining experience.

Kaarakin Clean-Up Day and/or Seven Sins Lunch

Come out for a Sunday morning drive to Kaarakin Black Cockatoo Sanctuary and help clean up the WA 4WD Association Meeting Room and the area around the building.

It's a good chance to meet people from other Clubs and have a chat.

Then we will drive a short distance to lunch at the nearby Seven Sins Perth Hills restaurant. Seven Sins is an outlet for Roleystone Brewing Co which is famous for its ciders.

It's OK if you can't come to the clean- up first but can come to the lunch. Just put your name on the trip and fill in the Lunch section only. The restaurant is extremely popular so get your name on the lunch list early.

Cut off date for Lunch bookings is Monday 27 March. You will have to do your own booking after that and may not be at our Club table which is booked for 10 people at the moment.

Lets Have a Peak at Charles

Note - Maximum 8 cars only. No trailers.

Note: As we will be in National Park, sorry, no dogs allowed.

 How about joining me for a 4 day trip to Peaks Charles and Eleanora in Peak Charles National Park over Easter 2023. This would involve a reasonable trip of about 1300km through the wheat-belt and some remote sand plain heath country East of Lake King and NW of Esperance.

Winnemia Project and Solar Eclipse with Track Care

Track Care WA have invited Subaru 4WD Club members to join them on a working project to help develop the Winnemia camp ground on Jimba Jimba station.

This is close to where Mardathuna Road crosses the Gascoyne River and is off the Carnarvon to Mullewa road, and about 35km west of Gascoyne Junction.

The Track Care group camping area is separate and will be nearby on the Southern bank of the Gascoyne River, a short distance west of the project.

Quobba Astronomy Adventures

We're going on a trip to Quobba Station, 60 km north of Carnarvon, to view the April 2023 Solar Eclipse (and some Soldier Crabs). While Exmouth is the best place to view 100 % of the eclipse, accommodation is already booked out up there, so at Quobba we will still get a good view, but it will be more of a 96.5% eclipse.


PEOPLE NEED TO COMMIT TO THIS TRIP EARLY AS ACCOMMODATION AT QUOBBA WILL BE BOOKED OUT CLOSER TO THE DATE.
THERE IS A 30% CANCELLATION FEE.

Ambling through the Avon

Let’s go on a bit of an amble through the Avon Valley National Park and the Julimar Conservation Park. We will travel mainly on  bush tracks but nothing too serious so the trip is suitable for all cars and drivers.

The wandoo forest is looking really nice now that it has had some rain as is the surrounding farmland and rolling hills of the Chittering Valley.

4WD Vehicle Training & Recovery Day

*Members Only*
Come along for an interactive hands on Vehicle Learning, Offroad Driving Techniques and 4WD Recovery Training Day. Bring your vehicle and a note pad! Plenty to learn.
Members are encouraged to come along and learn about Sand Driving techniques, dropping tyre pressures, and negotiating hills and obstacles.
Self Recovery and Snatch Recovery Methods will also be demonstrated.
All equipment will be provided.
Learn how to use the features of your car and how they help or hinder on different terrains

Gnangara Pines Perambulation & Walyunga NP Picnic

Sand driving, Pines, Woodland, Kangaroos and Black Cockatoos. Come for a drive through Gnangara Pine Plantation, from West to East, then, if you want to, over to Walyunga National Park for a picnic lunch and an easy walk along the spectacularly flowing Swan River bank.

Going the Granite Way

Join me for an easy drive exploring the wheat-belt and granite rock outcrops around the town of Quairading east of York. We will camp overnight at the Kwolyin Camp site set up and maintained by the Shire of Quairading before completing our explorations and returning to Perth the next day.

Bold Park Flora & Geology Walk

Joy will lead you on a pleasant one and a half hour morning walk through the unique Bold Park bush reserve in City Beach, pointing out features of interest including how the diverse geology of the area results in increased biodiversity and different plant communities.Wildflowers will be starting to bloom, yellow Acacias, various Banksias, Melaleucas, Calothamnus, and much more! Maybe some some orchids such as the Yellow Cowslips. Bring your camera!
