Subaru Club @ Perth 4WD Show 2022

This is an annual event. We need members to volunteer on our Stand alongside other Clubs within the 4WD Association of WA. Come along and enjoy the company, the people, the 4WDs and what's on offer.

Kaarakin Clean-up Day and BBQ

There will be a BBQ after the clean-up. See the attached flyer.

We need at least 2 Members from each Club to come out and help clean up the area around the building.

This will just be a general clean, so please bring along - Leaf Blowers, Gloves, Rakes, Clippers, brooms, shovels, ladders and anything else you think you'll need to help clean up the outside area.

The meeting room and the toilets will also be swept, mopped and cleaned. there is cleaning equipment available.

Morning tea will be provided for those in attendance.

TIME: 8 AM

Sorry there is no viewing of the black cockatoos which are in the property next door to the meeting room. The Black Cockatoo Conservation Society holds tours for which you have to buy a ticket:

Southwest Coast Beach Run

Our annual beach run is on again in the area between Tims Thicket and Myalup. We will decide closer to the day as to whether we go North or South. We'll also stop off at Old Coast rd Brewery on our way back

Christmas Celebration!

Hi Everyone

This year’s Subaru Club of WA Christmas function is being held at Whiteman Park on Saturday 3rd December 2022.

Come along anytime between 8.30am and 5pm – although the urn won’t be boiling until 9am! – and join members at the traditional end of year Christmas celebration. It is a great opportunity to catch up with fellow members and reflect on club activities and trips undertaken during the year and do some brain storming for trips in 2023!

We have booked a lovely shaded and grassed area with ready access to parking, tables, barbecues and toilet facilities.

Forest Night Drive

We will be following part of the Western 4WDer Magazine  4WD Days out of Perth trip #1  which follows a series of forestry tracks from "the Lakes" past Mt Observation before circling the edge of the water catchment area through undulating Wandoo forest.

We will be joined by some Track Care members on this trip. The Subaru club is a member of Track Care and it will be a good chance to find out about some of their projects, some of which have been carried out in the Wandoo National Park.

Porongurup Wander Walk & Wine

A trip down Albany Highway to the Porongurup Range Tourist Park. From there we can explore the area. There are multiple options including a walk up to Castle Rock Granite Skywalk and a tour of the local wineries.
The annual Porongurup Cellar Door Trail celebrations also begins on Saturday at Dukes Winery with special wine tastings, live music, food, another option for us to wander too.

Seven Sins Social Lunch, Perth Hills

Come along for a social club get-together and a delicious gastronomic adventure at the Seven Sins Perth Hills restaurant. Located in the Brackenridge Village, Roleystone quaint historical wooden buildings (dated back to 1921) and perched on a gigantic granite outcrop with spectacular Hills views, this is a unique dining experience.

Kaarakin Clean-Up Day and/or Seven Sins Lunch

Come out for a Sunday morning drive to Kaarakin Black Cockatoo Sanctuary and help clean up the WA 4WD Association Meeting Room and the area around the building.

It's a good chance to meet people from other Clubs and have a chat.

Then we will drive a short distance to lunch at the nearby Seven Sins Perth Hills restaurant. Seven Sins is an outlet for Roleystone Brewing Co which is famous for its ciders.

It's OK if you can't come to the clean- up first but can come to the lunch. Just put your name on the trip and fill in the Lunch section only. The restaurant is extremely popular so get your name on the lunch list early.

Cut off date for Lunch bookings is Monday 27 March. You will have to do your own booking after that and may not be at our Club table which is booked for 10 people at the moment.

Lets Have a Peak at Charles

Note - Maximum 8 cars only. No trailers.

Note: As we will be in National Park, sorry, no dogs allowed.

 How about joining me for a 4 day trip to Peaks Charles and Eleanora in Peak Charles National Park over Easter 2023. This would involve a reasonable trip of about 1300km through the wheat-belt and some remote sand plain heath country East of Lake King and NW of Esperance.

Winnemia Project and Solar Eclipse with Track Care

Track Care WA have invited Subaru 4WD Club members to join them on a working project to help develop the Winnemia camp ground on Jimba Jimba station.

This is close to where Mardathuna Road crosses the Gascoyne River and is off the Carnarvon to Mullewa road, and about 35km west of Gascoyne Junction.

The Track Care group camping area is separate and will be nearby on the Southern bank of the Gascoyne River, a short distance west of the project.

Quobba Astronomy Adventures

We're going on a trip to Quobba Station, 60 km north of Carnarvon, to view the April 2023 Solar Eclipse (and some Soldier Crabs). While Exmouth is the best place to view 100 % of the eclipse, accommodation is already booked out up there, so at Quobba we will still get a good view, but it will be more of a 96.5% eclipse.


PEOPLE NEED TO COMMIT TO THIS TRIP EARLY AS ACCOMMODATION AT QUOBBA WILL BE BOOKED OUT CLOSER TO THE DATE.
THERE IS A 30% CANCELLATION FEE.

Cheeky Cheela Escape

I'm fitting in a quick escape before the madness of end of financial year starts. 

We will make out way up Great Northern Highway to spend 4 nights/3 full days exploring the driving tracks and walking trails at Cheela Plains Station.
