Imagine tucking into a delicious breakfast with convivial friends while gazing out at a spectacular, panoramic ocean view, including the historic wreck of the SS Alkimos. Green lawn spreads out in front of you, leading to a children’s playground to one side. Very relaxed oceanside vibe.

As part of its bi-centenary celebrations, the City of Albany is planning to have the world’s largest light show installed around King George Sound. This should be a “once-in-a-lifetime” opportunity to see such a spectacular event. So, let’s not miss it. I certainly plan to be there.

This trip will be generally in the triangle of country between Perth, Southern Cross and Hyden. We will travel out via York and parts of the Old Goldfields Rd.

This is a Social Trip. All travel is on bitumen roads

Most regular trips by the club include a visit to a Bakery as part of proceedings. The original concept of this trip was to reverse the emphasis to focus on Bakery visits with the travel being just a means of getting from one Bakery to the next. The plan was therefore to meet at Sawyers Valley, travel to the Baker’s Hill Pie Shop, Toodyay Bakery then the Bakehaus at Bindoon.

We will still travel to these areas in the same order. However, by doing this trip on 3/5 we are able to combine our Toodyay visit with the Annual Moondyne Festival.
